Many opportunities have come about as a result of me becoming a personal trainer. I now teach bikini competitors to walk in high heels, bodybuilders to pose and flex on stage all over the world and train people to push their muscles to complete failure in the gym.
The variety and diversity of my job has opened many doors. I've filmed TV Commercials featuring muscular women, chatted on podcasts with other fitness professionals in the industry, stood on stage representing Australia as a figure and physique athlete, organised seminars and workshops Pro Athletes from the other side of the world, plus judged competitors with the IFBB Pro League.
The variety of people and experiences I am exposed to have been endless!

My vision is to pass on what is taught about science, exercise and physiology in university in a learnable, usable format.
I want the people on the front lines doing the coaching to have all the knowledge and expertise they need at their disposal, to get the most out of their clients.
My interest in training and nutrition has led me to study extensively in the USA and at home in Sydney, with a background in physiology and neuroscience. I keep up with the current science, setting aside time each day to review research and study training methodology. Combined with a decade of in-the-trenches experience as a personal trainer, my clients reap the benefits of a coaching approach that blends science with practicality.
Rawdon Dubois aka 'The Dubois Method' is a Sydney-based online Physique Competition Preparation coach, a current IFBB Pro League Amateur Judge, one half of the successful 'Under The Bar' Podcast and a lover of short, black coffee.
Rawdon has been influenced by Broderick Chavez, Dr Mike Israetel, Menno Henselmans, Brad Schoenfeld, Milos Sarcev and Charles Poliquin to develop his own brand, The Dubois Method; an uncompromising, all-encompassing, style of coaching. Designed for any athlete in any federation, the technique focuses on Physique Competition Preparation delivered with rational thought, passion and an attention to detail. The Dubois Method coaching is an ever-evolving combination of 28+ years “In the Trenches” first-hand, real world gym life experience, the latest in “Evidence-Based” scientific research with a heavy emphasis on basic human “Physiology and Biology” - and a little bit of old school bodybuilding “Bro Science” thrown into the mix for good measure. Rawdon’s hashtags of #hardworkpays, #consistencyiskey and #alwayslearning are the fundamental life principles he lives by. He practises what he preaches, walking the talk every day both inside and outside the gym while bringing a wealth of experience in Lifestyle, Hypertrophy, Body Composition, Nutritional and Supplementation to the success of his many Physique Competition Preparation athletes.

I have spent most of my life involved in activities and employment related to the Fitness Industry. In 1976 I was an Australian Youth Champion (90kg division) in the sport of Olympic Weightlifting and placed 2nd (100kg division) in the 1980 National Titles as a 20 year old. My best lifts were a 130kg Snatch and a 167.5kg Clean and Jerk.
I have won two Australian (IFBB) Heavyweight Body Building Titles (’91,’92) along with numerous state and regional titles. My swansong was as a professional, placing second in the ’93 Black and Blue challenge.
.I hold a teaching degree in Physical Education and a Sports Science degree(with merit). This academic background, combined with extensive experience in practical applications led to me being in demand for employment as lecturer at the UNSW, UTS & UWS &niversities as a resistance studies specialist.
For over two decades I lectured in the Fitness Instructor and Personal Training courses, starting with ACHPER (Australian Council for Health, Physical Education and Recreation), then Network for Fitness Professionals and FIA(Fitness Institute of Australia). I am accredited by the prestigious USA National Strength and Conditioning Association as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).
Contest History: Represented Australia on four occasions in international Body Building contests:
’85 Mr.Universe in London; ’85 Mr World in Graz-Austria; ’87 Mr.International (3rd) in Atlantic City-USA and ’87 Mr.South Pacific (1st) in Tahiti.
I hope to encourage individuals to face, open up and work through these challenges by addressing issues that are not easily discussed in our everyday lives. These issues can affect our abilities, goals, self-esteem, sense of worth and physical health. I do not want to waste the hard lessons I have learned through experiencing an eating disorder and depression. Our physical, mental, emotional and social health are all interrelated. I consider each of these aspects holistically and in balance, as I have put into practice in my own life. This is the basis of the services I provide.
Breaking the stigma about mental health struggles is a challenge in itself. I believe in overcoming these, boldly and unashamedly.
